Avoiding our emotions is one of the biggest causes of mental health problems
About Me
I am a registered trauma-informed, psychotherapist and a member of The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia. My experience includes work in not for profit organisations and also in private mental health facilities, providing individual and group therapy. I am passionate about therapy because I know that it works...once you find the right therapist for you! The work I do is informed by neuroscience, attachment and trauma research, and the understanding that trauma is held in the body. I tailor therapy to the individual client by incorporating a variety of modalities including ; psychodynamic therapies, attachment-based therapy and somatic (body-based) practices.

Florence
Florence has worked with me in schools, hospitals and mental-health facilities. She sometimes joins me in the therapy room and loves to make an appearance in zoom sessions too! Flo provides a great experience of being delighted in - it is hard for our inner critic to see us as unworthy or unlovable when we are presented with such unconditional affection and clear desire for our interaction. I believe much of therapy is about providing these missing experiences. She has super dog powers, knowing when to stay quiet and let the humans do their thing and when it might be time for her to step in to supply a supportive lick!
